Canadian racer Lance Stroll missed the Spanish Grand Prix due to a medical issue stemming from a 2023 bike accident, posing a challenge for the Aston Martin team ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix. Stroll’s previous wrist injury from a cycling accident in 2023 resurfaced, leading him to withdraw from the Spanish Grand Prix after qualifying 14th. Aston Martin confirmed that Stroll would undergo a procedure to address his medical concerns before focusing on recovery. With uncertainties surrounding Stroll’s participation in the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix, the team may need to consider reserve drivers like Stoffel Vandoorne, Felipe Drugovich, Jak Crawford, or Tina Hausmann. While Vandoorne and Drugovich are potentially unavailable due to conflicting racing commitments, Crawford could be a viable option if he secures the necessary FIA superlicence for Formula 1 participation.
